Milagros Lumarlan Flores died next to love ones on June 8, 2020, at her home while under hospice care of acute respitory failure. She was born September 21, 1948, in Manila, Philippines, the daughter of Afredo and Salud Lumarlan.
She graduated from Jose Abad Santos High School in 1968 and afterwards attended secretarial school in the Philippines. She met her husband, Gustavo Flores, a civilian employee of the U.S Navy while he was assigned in the Philippines and they were married on June, 15 1984 in Manila. She immigrated to the United States in 1987 and remained a resident of Sacramento, California ever since. After arriving in the U.S. she trained and worked as a cook for restaurants and nursing homes until her retirement in 2010.
Milagros enjoyed needle work and gardening. She had a reserved but deep religious faith. She also cared deeply about family and would often offer support and friendly guidance when needed.
In addition to her parents she is predeceased by her youngest son Edwin Carsolin of the Philippines. Surviving, in addition to her husband, are her son Ernesto Carsolin of the Philippines, daughter Esther Romero and her husband Kevin of Sacramento; two grandsons Seann and Ian Romero and grand-daughter Kathrina Hendricks. She is also survived by two brothers, Rodolfo Lumarlan and Alfredo Jhun Lumarlan and sisters Evangelina Abadilla, Teresita Joves, Luisa Santos and Aurora Lumarlan all of the Philippines.
