Lance VerlodJanuary 1, 1952 ~ December 24, 2017 (age 65)
Born January 1, 1952 to Daphne & Loren Verlod. Lance lived and raised his family in Sacramento, California, where he passed away quietly in the presence of his wife Belinda and son Christopher. Lance a member of Light of The Valley Church in Elk Grove, California will be remembered as a valued parish Elder and Bible class leader. Lance was also a board member of Sacramento Lutheran High School and was cherished for his service and dedication to the school’s accreditation team. Lance loved playing sports, reading books, playing scrabble and spending time with friends and family while playing pinochle. He belonged to the Elks Club #6 and bowling leagues for over 30 years. His passion for cooking showed in his yearly spaghetti sauce which he enjoyed gifting to friends and family and winning 1st place in a Light of The Valley chili cookoff.
Lance is survived by, brothers Scott, Wesley, and Auddie, sisters Diane, Dawn, and Debra, as well as his beloved dogs and companions, Patches, Sherman, Yaz, Missy, Nina, and Bobby. Lance is preceded in peace by his mother Daphne, father Loren, and his brother Joe. In leu of flowers, the family has asked for all remembrances be donated to Light of the Valley Comfort Dogs at www.Lightofthevalley.net
A memorial service will be Saturday, January 13, 2018, held at Light of The Valley Church located at 9270 Bruceville Road, Elk Grove, CA, 95758. Service begins at 11:00 AM PST. Reception immediately following.
For family and friends who are unable to attend, the service will be streamed on Belinda’s Face Book live.
